Are you looking for an excellent appetizer recipe to serve as a snack or aperitif in the great Halloween party you're planning? These caramel apple grapes are perfect for any guest list, I served them to children, obviously without Vodka and also to adults. They were perfect for the last wine party I had for my Jr. League friends and I'm going to serve them at my little son's Halloween party this year.

They are so quick to assemble, just wash the grapes and soak in Vodka, only if you are serving to the adults, then drain. Chop a small plate of walnuts, I used peanuts, but any walnut will work well. Put all your grapes on toothpicks, my children love this part, then melt the caramel on a low heat. When the caramel has melted, dip the grapes on the stick in the melted caramel, covering the grapes in half. Then roll the adhesive side into the chopped nuts, place them on a serving tray.

When I served them at my wine party, they complimented the white Chablis I served perfectly. The sweetened caramel has provided the perfect balance between sweetness and flavor of the wine. I ended up going to the kitchen to do more. Tonight I'll make 3 bunches of grapes because my Halloween Goblin troop will devour them in the first hour. This is really a fantastic recipe and I can't recommend it enough.


  • 1/2 pound green seedless grape
  • 1 c. caramel vodka
  • 1 c. Caramel
  • 1 c. Chopped peanuts


  • 1. Dip the grapes in the caramel vodka and refrigerate for 1 hour.
  • 2. Drain the grapes and dry them with paper towels.
  • 3. Tease the toothpicks in the grapes, then dip in the caramel and peanuts. Transfer to a pan lined with parchment to let it rest.
  • 4. Serve.
